T-Shirt & Jacket Sizing

Vintage T-shirts and jackets can vary significantly in fit. Older garments were often made with different cuts, fabrics, and sizing standards than modern clothing, so the size shown on the tag may not always reflect how the item actually fits.

To make sizing easier, we provide measurements on most products. These measurements give you a more accurate idea of the garment’s true fit.

Our measurements are listed in this format:

Width × Length

The width measurement comes first. This is also called the chest or pit-to-pit measurement. The length measurement comes second and is measured from the top of the garment down to the bottom hem.

For example:

24" × 31" means the garment measures 24 inches across the chest and 31 inches in length.

Use the size chart as a general guide to compare these measurements with modern Small, Medium, Large, and XL sizing.

Jersey Sizing

Jersey sizing can be tricky because fit often depends on the brand, sport, era, and whether the jersey is authentic or replica. This guide is designed to help you choose the best size with more confidence.

Before choosing a jersey, keep these tips in mind:

Think about how you want the jersey to fit. Some people prefer a baggy or oversized fit, while others prefer a more relaxed or fitted look.

Jersey sizing can vary by brand. Two jerseys marked as the same size may fit differently depending on who made them.

Authentic jerseys and replica jerseys often fit differently. Sizing can also change depending on the sport.

Your regular clothing size may not always match your jersey size. In some cases, you may need to size up or size down.

Older jerseys often run smaller than newer jerseys, so always check the measurements before purchasing.

Classic Jersey Size Breakdown

Historically, numbered jersey sizes usually translate to men’s sizes as follows:

Size 36 = Men’s Small
Size 40 = Men’s Medium
Size 44 = Men’s Large
Size 48 = Men’s Extra Large
Size 52 = Men’s XX-Large
Size 54–56 = Men’s XXX-Large
Size 60 = Men’s XXXX-Large
