Irvine Sellars Mate's Carnaby St Made in England Vintage 1970s Wool Overcoat Black S
"Mate's Carnaby St." was a real address, not a slogan.
Irvine Sellars ran his shop right on Carnaby Street in the 1960s and '70s, at the center of Swinging London's menswear scene - the same stretch of road where mod culture and British tailoring collided. By the '70s the label had moved into heavier outerwear like this: a full wool overcoat, made in England, cut for the kind of cold London winters that Carnaby Street's mod suits never had to survive.
Black wool, size Small. There's a tiny pull in the fabric on the front right of the coat - noted honestly, visible in photos, doesn't affect the wear.
